Derby Day Festivities

Derby Day is a huge tradition here in Kentucky and Signature Healthcare of Spencer County as well. We had a great day filled with fun activities that included residents and staff throughout the day. The residents along with our Quality of Life staff made Derby hats to wear.

We kicked off the day with our Derby Parade. Different departments made Derby themed floats and we had a procession with residents and staff. The parade line went down every hall throughout the facility showing off their hars, floats, and pride of being a Signature/Serenity employee. This day was made especially nice due to our spectacular Housekeeping Department. On short notice, the whole department came together in making their float. It was a wonderful day seeing our Stakeholders gather together to watch the parade, laugh, smile, and have some fun. Seeing our residents doing the same and for the ones in their rooms waving and laughing with their family members, was awesome.

Our last year’s Derby Pie contest winner Heather Herndon, MDS Coordinator lost her title to Jacque Cundiff, CNA. The residents and staff enjoyed tasting the pies. We then had Derby horse races again with residents and staff; you could hear the laughter down the hallway. What great fun they had.

The smiles and laughter is something we will remember for a long time to come. We want to thank all the staff that participated, we appreciate you more than works can express.

We hope you enjoy the pictures!!!
