After taking care of my mother for seven years, her care got to be too much for me to handle. I had looked at a couple of nursing homes, but they just didn’t feel right. Since putting my mom at Signature of Spencer County, I couldn’t be happier. From the moment I walked in the door it felt right and immediately one of the staff came up to me and told me she knew what I was going through, her name was Vicky. My mom has been receiving excellent care and the staff are wonderful. It felt like God led us there. The staff are attentive and treat you like family. Also the culture is more about what the patient desires rather than what the facility wants. They really try to make the patients feel like it’s their home. It’s a real gem sitting in what feels like Mayberry. I haven’t been disappointed at all and it really changed my perception of what a lot of people think about nursing homes, as this dreadful rigid place that you have to go to towards the end of your life. It’s not that way at all.
